Door County Horizons opened its doors for business in 1989 with the goal of representing the county's finest properties. It was formed by Tad Gilster whose previous brokerage firm, The Gilster Company, dominated the Northern Door County market in the early and mid-eighties. In 2010, Door County Horizons joined forces with Coldwell Banker the Real Estate Group, Inc. to become the exclusive Door County Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group, Inc. franchise.

Scott Bader (an agent with The Gilster Company & Door County Horizons) purchased the company in 1995. In 1999, George & Doris Bodenner’s top Sturgeon Bay firm, Door Peninsula Realty, was acquired. In 2001, Kane Real Estate Company was merged into the company. In 2007, a broker/owner from ReMax rolled her company into Coldwell Banker Door County Horizons and in May of 2008, Quest Realty became a part of our firm. These additions make Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group, Inc. Door County large enough to serve you, but still small enough to know all of our clients. Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group, Inc. of Door County has complete coverage of the Door Peninsula and serves the Algoma and Kewaunee County area as well.
